Over the past few years, a number of Bollywood actresses have gotten into film production. But Parineeti Chopra has no such plans as yet.

“Right now, I am focusing only on acting and singing, which I am going to start doing Meri Pyaari Bindu (MPB) onwards. I don’t want to do anything else right now as I want to gather more knowledge. I don’t have enough expertise to produce (movies) or set up companies. I will do it when the time is right and when I have enough skills,” she says.

Parineeti, whose last film release was Kill Dil (2014) says she never felt she had distance from acting even during her break. “In fact, after a couple of hours (on the sets of MPB), I was like, ‘Oh, I am back on a film set.’ That’s because I was shooting for many ads. It felt good to be back on a film set and play a character. Now, I am in the flow again. I know Ayushmann (Khurrana; actor), Akshay (Roy; director) and Maneesh (Sharma; producer) well. It is a great, young crew, so I felt really good,” she says.

Besides other films, Parineeti will also start work on Takadum soon, which stars Sushant Singh Rajput, her Shuddh Desi Romance (2013) co-star. “Sushant and Homi (Adajania; director) make a killer combination. Then, there’s Irrfan (Khan; actor). You can imagine how great it’s going to be. Doing workshops with Sushant and Homi is most satisfying creatively, especially because this is an intense film and requires people to be on top of their game. Sushant is such a dedicated actor. I just hope that when we go on the floors we can create that (same) intensity and make an entertaining film,” she says.
