We have seen actor Shefali Shah giving strong performances as supporting actor in films such as Satya and Waqt: The Race Against Time. Now, the 36-year-old is all set to show her talent as a lead heroine in Bamali Shukla’s directorial debut, Kucch Luv Jaisaa, along with actor Rahul Bose.

Interestingly, Shefali has glammed up and lost oodles of weight to get into the skin of her character. Talking about the same, she says, "I realise that there is a certain expectation from a ‘typical heroine’ in Bollywood. She is expected to be beautiful and have a toned body. And to achieve that, I have literally starved myself. I lost about 10 kg in a month, and moved on to a exercise-oriented lifestyle to maintain it."

RahulGiving more details about her character, she says, "I play the character of Madhu, a typical bored housewife, who wants to break free, and her life takes a new dimension when she meets a completely different personality in form of Rahul Bose."

So how was it working with Rahul? "Rahul is a very self-assured and understated actor. Our sensibilities are in sync and it was great working with him," she replies.

The actor, who has been associated with art house, has even shot many intimate scenes in the film. Ask her about the same and she says, "It is a love story of a married couple and deals with a lot of sexual tension between me and my husband’s character, and Rahul’s character. However, the scenes have been dealt deftly."

On being asked about husband and producer Vipul's reaction, she adds, "He is very understanding and non-interfering. He trusts my sensibilities."
