Bollywood actor Asin Thottumkal, who got married to business tycoon Rahul Sharma in January, has announced that she has stopped working post marriage. In a long post, Asin wrote on her Instagram account on Sunday, “For all my media friends who still have not got the message, I’m once again reiterating that I have stopped taking up any assignments and have wrapped all my commitments before my wedding itself including my brand endorsements.”
She added, “Request people to stop making assumptions about my assignments and work as I’m not doing that at this stage. Had made this announcement before the wedding itself.”

Asin and Micromax co-founder Rahul tied the knot in a twin wedding ceremony on January 19. A Christian ceremony in the morning was followed by Hindu pheras in the evening.
Bollywood star Akshay Kumar introduced Asin to Rahul. Talking about it, Akshay had said right before the wedding, “It was during Housefull 2 and we were in Delhi. Don’t laugh, but we were & playing hide and seek, and I made the two of them hide together in one cupboard. That is how it started and it is so nice that they are getting married now.”
The 30-year-old actor began her acting career with the Malayalam film Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka (2001). Asin got her breakthrough role in Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi opposite Ravi Teja where she portrayed a Tamil girl in her first Telugu language film, which got her the Telugu Filmfare Award for Best Actress. She later appeared in more than a dozen Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films before moving on to the Hindi film industry.
Asin began her Bollywood journey with Aamir Khan-starrer Ghajini in 2008. In her career spanning eight years, she has worked with Salman Khan (Ready), Akshay Kumar (Khiladi 786) and Ajay Devgn (Bol Bachchan) among others. She was last seen in All Is Well that also starred Rishi Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan and Supriya Pathak.
