Vidya Balan, who will celebrate her fourth wedding anniversary with husband Siddharth Roy Kapur on December 14, admits to admiring many of his qualities. She has apparently been watching more movies, as Siddharth is a movie buff.

Speaking about his other qualities, the National Award-winner says, “He’s non-reactive compared to me. I don’t think I can ever reach his level of being non-reactive. I sure do marvel at that quality in him. It is amazing to be in that space, as he meets so many people all the time. But he handles people beautifully. I love being around people and get along with them as well. I am a reactive person, which could be because I am a very sensitive (person). I haven’t been able to change that about myself.”

A lot of women dream of the man they would like to marry or how their wedding would be, but Vidya says that she didn’t have “any such fantasies growing up”. She says, “I never dreamt of getting married. After I met Siddharth, I think it was a natural progression. He was the only man I could ever imagine getting married to.”

The actor also has her own way of dealing with the intense scrutiny stars and their personal lives are put under. The Dirty Picture (2011) actor says, “I am quite cut off from the scrutiny. I don’t read or watch entertainment news. I haven’t developed a thick skin yet and things affect me. The best thing for me is to keep away [from it]. It’s a defense mechanism for me. If I don’t hear or read anything, I won’t react either.”

She says that is why she is reluctant to engage on social media, especially Twitter. But she enjoys taking and posting photos and videos on Instagram. “Siddharth reads every paper, and even if he reads about me — things that may be good or bad — he never shares it with me. He knows it affects me and that I consciously keep away from it. He is helping me be the way I want to, even though I would never be able to stay quiet about stuff I read about him,” she says.

The actor, who is hoping for a two-week break after the release of her latest film Kahaani 2, might not get one. “I am looking forward to some relaxing time at home before I start shooting my next film. But I might not get the entire two weeks to relax,” she says.

Vidya Balan is looking forward to a break post Kahaani 2.
