The rumour mill doesn’t seem to spare anyone. This time it’s actor Mink Brar, who was recently reported to have made her Hollywood debut with a certain film called Dessert Queen. Brar is popularly known as Dev Anand’s protégé since he launched her in Pyar Ka Tarana (2003), a film written and directed by the veteran.
More recently, Brar, according to a tabloid, shot for a film directed by one Henri Pachand, which apparently is the pseudonym for pornographic film director, Ron Sullivan. But online records indicate that Sullivan passed away in 2008. “The story is all nonsense and very upsetting,” says Brar, adding, “I’ve never done any film like this. This is shocking news to me. Who likes being associated with a ‘porn’ film? It’s a big insult. I have never been offered any such film, and I haven’t heard of this director.”
Though Brar admits she was in the US earlier this year, she insists that it was not for professional reasons. “I find it funny! Is it unusual for someone to be on vacation?” she asks, adding, “If I have done any such film, I would like to see more pictures from it.”
Defending her picture in the poster of the film, which was also published with the report, she claims that her laptop was stolen 10 to 15 days ago. “It contained thousands of pictures of me, and someone must have used this picture from there and created the poster,” she says.
But when asked whether she had filed a First Information Report with the police, she denies doing so. “I didn’t think much of it. I posted it on Facebook on the day I lost my laptop,” she says. The actor, following her stint with Indian TV (remember Zor Ka Jhatka and Dancing Queen), is now considering doing more work on the tube. She is also working with her brother to get her second home production on the road.
