Actor Arjun Rampal, who will portray the cult character of Sher Khan in Zanjeer remake, played by yesteryears’ actor Pran in the original blockbuster (1973), says he wants to do something special for the legendary star.
“It is a cameo kind of a part. I have about 10 or 12 days of work in the film. It is Pran saab’s part, and I think it is a wonderful role. I’ll try to do it to the best of my ability,” said the 39-year-old.
“Don’t ask me what it’s going to be because I really don’t know, but it is going to be something special. I want to do something special for Pran saab because I really loved that role when I saw it as a kid,” he added.
The 39-year-old earlier portrayed Pran’s part in the remake of the film Don, in which he was cast as Jasjit.
Arjun is also looking forward to filmmaker Prakash Jha’s next, Chakravyuh, which is about the Maoist movement.“It’s a beautiful script. Chakravyuh deals with an issue that is very relevant today. The whole Naxal movement that is happening within the country. Yes, it is a very debatable, strong and powerful subject with issues that people should know,” he said.
Talking about his role in the film, Arjun added, “I play a police officer. His name is SP Adil Khan and he is the third generation of his family. They have always been in the police — always very right, very good and super fit. He goes through dilemmas of his own. It is about a guy wanting to do his job and being stuck in a chakravyuh.”
Currently, the actor is busy shooting for director Madhur Bhandarkar’s upcoming flick, Heroine.
