Before making his acting debut with John Abraham’s Vicky Donor that released yesterday, anchor-turned-actor Ayushmann Khurana was roped in for another flick, Hamaara Bajaj, also produced by Abraham.
The 27-year-old, however, says he is no haste to pick films. “I have waited for four years for the right script. I deliberately chose this film (Vicky Donor). The subject is the king here more than anything else and I’m always going to stick to that,” says Khurana. “I am in a very secure space right now. I am in no hurry right now for scripts,” he adds.
But the former MTV VJ does look forward to acting with Anushka Sharma. “She is pretty, bubbly and cute and I would like tow work with her.” So, did his stint as a TV host help him in acting,? Khurana says, “Anchoring and acting are two different things. In fact I had to unlearn a lot of stuff while acting. But anchoring definitely made me a lot more spontaneous. But, I did take some theatre classes and workshops for acting.”
Having ruffled some feathers for his remarks on sperm donation, Khurana, who plays a sperm donor in the film, doesn’t regret what he said. He says that the issue’s been dealt in a comic manner in the film. “People don’t respond to a message if you don’t show it in a light-hearted manner. This film will enlighten people as well as entertain them.”
