“The biggest shock is that people didn’t see me in this light. I was always this overweight, happy girl who didn’t have this aggressive side to her. But I always knew that there was this strong side in me, which did not really come across. This was because I was not at my fittest best. I just wanted to inspire people and show them that it is possible for an obese person to lose all this weight and have a toned body,” she says.

The actor has taken the praise that she has received as motivation to continue to work on herself. “I am only 50% of where I want to be. I wanted to inspire people towards fitness and health. That was the inspiration behind the shoot. It was to tell people that they too can do it,” she says.

The actor says that she would always be questioned about her weight earlier, which would often get her thinking about how she wanted to look. “I would always be asked whether I was being rebellious or was endorsing a curvy or fat body. I would always tell them that I was not comfortable and I want to be fitter and thinner. I want to wear cooler clothes,” she says, adding, “I have always been honest in saying that I am not happy the way I look. I was confident but I was not happy with the way I looked. I always looked at my pictures and even in films, there would be scenes where I thought I wish I looked better. I just need time to make the change. You have to invest in your body to lose weight and bring that change. I am glad that I got this time to work on myself. It’s taken me 9-10 months to reach here.”
