Qawwali singer Altaf Raja is creating a buzz with his song Jholuram in director Raj Kumar Gupta’s next Ghanchakkar. The singer, who was missing in action since three years, is thankful to composer Amit Trivedi for getting him on board for the club song.

So does this song mark his comeback?
“Yes, it is quite a comeback for me, although I did not really go anywhere. I have always been a part of the industry,” says Altaf, adding, “It is Amit who thought that I will be great for ‘Jholuram’ and he took me on to sing for Emraan Hashmi. So yes, I am excited as it’s a song for a film that has superstars like Emraan and Vidya (Balan).”

Not only is Altaf singing in the film, he is also featured in the song and will be seen doing a jugalbandi with Emraan. “It was great to shoot the music video with Emraan. As a singer, you are also responsible for the song.  This is such a quirky number that everyone will sit up and notice it. In fact, the whole plot of the film is hilarious,” says Altaf.

Ghanchakkar is a comedy of errors and stars Emraan and Vidya in the lead roles. It is set to hit theatres on June 28.
