In his decade-long career Mohit Suri, has directed ten films and most of them have been successful — including Aashiqui 2 (2013) and Ek Villain (2014). So, the news of his upcoming film was bound to create buzz.
In September last year, Mohit announced that he plans to direct a film based on Chetan Bhagat’s last novel. But since then, there has been no news about the commencement of the film. So, the current buzz doing the rounds is that the film isn’t happening anymore as Mohit wants to do something else.
However, Mohit denies this, saying, "I will not only direct the film, but also debut as a producer. It will be my first production along with Chetan Bhagat and Ekta Kapoor. The film is very much on and I want to give it my best shot. Actually, I’m currently working on my film with Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan, and that is taking up all my time."
According to sources, the film is likely to go on floors in June. When asked if he has cast anyone, Mohit says, "I will start working on Chetan’s script once my film with the Bhatts releases. I haven’t cast anyone as of now. But I will soon start and look for fresh talent."
