Actor Shahid Kapoor, who is going to host the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards (June 7-9) in Singapore, says he doesn’t like taking personal digs at industry friends and colleagues.
“I think it is possible to entertain and make people laugh without taking digs. People get very personal.. .I don’t like that part of hosting,” he said, adding: “Just because the mike is in your hand, it doesn’t mean you can say anything. It is important to crack jokes, but not in that way.”
The IIFA awards were earlier hosted by Riteish Deshmukh and Boman Irani. “Riteish and Boman did a good job. Even Ranbir and Imran were funny while hosting Filmfare awards. Everyone has their own way to entertain and I have my own,” said Shahid, who had earlier hosted Filmfare awards along with Shah Rukh Khan.
