Imran Abbas is a popular actor and model in Pakistan. Interestingly, he was on the verge of starting his Bollywood career in 2010.

Abbas was confirmed to star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish that year (for the role played by Aditya Roy Kapur).

But when they were about to start shooting, the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai took place.

"Many innocent people suffered because of that, and I was stopped from coming over because the situation was not conducive," he says.

The actor regrets that he lost out on plum roles with some of the best directors because he was bound by contracts in Pakistan.

ji met me in Dubai and I signed a contract with him. I’ve been a fan of his films, and love his style of film-making. Unfortunately, I was bound by some contracts and I could not do those films. I was also offered Aashiqui 2," adds Abbas.

Now, he is finally making his way into Bollywood with two films, including Vikram Bhatt’s next with Bipasha Basu.

About his co-star, he says, "Bipasha is a great actor and is very professional. She wakes up at 6 am for her workouts and I never found her reporting late to the sets or coming unprepared for the role. We have some hard core action scenes too. When I shot the first scene of my first Bollywood film with her, I had such a sense of achievement."
