A few years ago, Imran Khan worked as a camera operator in the US, after graduating from college. And now, the actor is putting his experience to good use. As he travels to Dubai, New York, UK as well as a few Indian cities, he will document candid moments from his promotional journey for Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu in a travelogue.
“With the travelogue, he will take his fans along with him, through the power of video. He’ll be documenting his journey and uploading it to UTV and Dharma Productions’ YouTube accounts,” says an insider from the unit.
Called Ek Main Aur Ekk Star, the travelogue will give the actor’s fans a taste of what it means to live life as a high-profile jet-setting Bollywood star.
When contacted, Imran confirms, “In the past, we had shot blogs while making the film (where he introduced the characters and candid behind-the-scenes moments) and they became huge hits on the Internet. So, all of us thought of taking the concept further by shooting viedologues while we are travelling (for promotions).”
The campaign’s videos will be shot, edited and uploaded on the trip and will be a real account of life on the road. Besides other activities, Imran will be meeting his fans face-to-face, accompanied by co-star Kareena Kapoor.
This is not the first time Imran is testing his skills as cameraman. Last year, for his hit Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Imran had placed himself in the audience and shot co-star Katrina Kaif performing Dhunki on stage. The makers had then decided to retain a major portion of that footage in the film.
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, which has been produced by Karan Johar and directed by Shakun Batra, is a Valentine’s Day release and will see the youngest Khan star opposite Kareena for the first time.
