The wedding reception of cricketer Harbhajan Singh and actor Geeta Basra was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former prime minister Manmohan Singh at The Taj Palace Hotel in the national capital on Sunday evening.
Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra got married at an intimate ceremony in a gurudwara near Jalandhar on Thursday morning. Speaking to HT after the wedding, the cricketer said, “I am feeling great. It is a very special day of my life.”
Bhajji also posted a video thanking everyone for their wishes. “Just wanted to thank you for your love and well wishes (sic),” he says in the video. “It really does mean a lot to us,” adds Geeta in the video.
Cricketer Virat Kohli, one of the guests at a post-wedding party hosted for the couple, later uploaded a selfie with Harbhajan. “Harbhajan Singh paji, God bless you & Geeta Basra always. Congratulations to both of you. Rab rakha!” he captioned it.
Big names of the cricketing world were present at the event. Anil Kumble was the first to arrive at the event.
Captain of team India MS Dhoni and cricketer Virendra Sehwag came completely prepared for the reception.
Members of the Indian cricket time like Ajinkya Rahane, R Ashwin and Murli Vijay were among the early birds to arrive at the reception.
IPL chairman and politician Rajeev Shukla and cricketer Kapil Dev were also present at the event.
