This year, Akshay Kumar played a dreaded don in his Independence Day release. And even before Ekta Kapoor’s production has left the theatres, news is that the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-production, Gabbar, will release on the same holiday weekend next year. But unlike Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara, Akshay will be seen playing an honest professor who takes on corruption in the remake of the Tamil hit, Ramana.
Interestingly, Ajay Devgn is also likely to come out with Singham 2 on the same day.
He will, of course, reprise the role of a righteous tough cop Bajirao Singham. As for Akshay, Gabbar, starring Shruti Haasan as the female lead, will be his second back-to-back I-Day release. Last year, Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger released on the holiday weekend and turned out to be a blockbuster.
