We all know what it is like to see a movie and feel that it resonates with our personal stories. It seems that is exactly what Sutapa Sikdar felt after watching The Lunchbox, her husband Irrfan’s latest film.

The film, directed by Ritesh Batra, is a love story with Irrfan as the protagonist. When Sutapa saw it recently, she was so touched that she left him a love note. A source close to the actor says, “In the film, a love story develops when the characters start exchanging letters hidden in lunch boxes. The dabbawalas of Mumbai, who deliver these lunch boxes, are also focused on prominently.

After Irrfan’s wife saw the movie, she left a note in their bedroom stating that the simplicity of the film reminded her of their own love story, and that it struck a personal chord.” Ask Irrfan about this and he says, “I’m happy to see my family react so well to our film. I hope that this film helps rekindle the romance for all couples, married and unmarried.”
