Irrfan Khan and Konkana Sen Sharma's film Talvar, based on Aarushi Talwar's murder case, revealed its first two posters on Friday night. Edgy and intense, the poster showed the blindfolded Lady Justice holding a sword in one hand and scales of justice in the other. Another poster showed Irrfan looking serious with the tagline, "India's most controversial case reopens on 2nd October".
Director Meghna Gulzar took to micro-blogging website Twitter, where she shared the poster and wrote: "#TalvarTheMovie @irrfan_k @konkonas @JungleePictures". The film stars Tabu and its music has been penned by music composer-filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj.
Konkana, who would also be seen playing a pivotal role in the film tweeted: "Our new film #Talvar releases 2nd October. Here's the first teaser! #excite" Even Manish Gupta's directorial Rahasya, which featured actors Kay Kay Menon and Tisca Chopra that released earlier this year, was also inspired by the Aarushi murder case.
The story of Talvar revolves around the sensational murder of 14-year-old Aarushi Talwar and 45-year-old domestic helper Hemraj, that took place in the year 2008 in Noida. The story has captured India and people have also questioned the methods used by CBI and the state police while investigating the case.
The film has been selected for world premiere in Special Presentations section at the Toronto International Film Festival that runs from September 10 to 20. Legendary poet-lyricist and Meghna's father Gulzar has written the lyrics for the film.
