After the success of his last two films — Paan Singh Tomar (2012) and Life Of Pi (2012) — actor Irrfan has been signed for two brand new films by Dar Motion Pictures. The films are titled D Day and Lunchbox. However, the much-in-demand actor seems to have now become quite choosy about his projects and more so, about the way they will be promoted.
We’ve now learnt that Irrfan has asked the makers to hire two marketing agencies to promote the two films. A source close to the actor says, “He gives a lot of importance to marketing and feels that there should be no clash of any sort between the two movies. Getting different agencies on board will bring out fresh ideas and insights. And Irrfan feels that should be an organic process.”
Since Irrfan’s characters in the two films are very diverse, he believes that there should be no common ground as far as their marketing is concerned as well. “D Day is a first-hand account of an incredible mission undertaken by Indian secret agents to capture the most wanted man in India. Whereas, Lunchbox is the love story of a young housewife and a middle-aged man, set in Mumbai,” explains the source, adding, “Irrfan is taking keen interest in the promotional aspects of his films. Especially after the success of his last few projects. He’s concerned about his films’ promotions.”
Arun Rangachari from Dar Motion Pictures says, “Irrfan has requested us to get two marketing teams on board to make sure their promotions are distinct and authentic.”
