Despite going overboard with promotions for his latest release Irrfan Khan seems to have failed to draw in audience for Madaari. The film, directed by Nishikant Kamat, has earned mere Rs 5.75 crore in two days of its release.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures on Monday.
#Madaari shows 55.56% growth on Sat... Fri 2.25 cr, Sat 3.50 cr. Total: ₹ 5.75 cr nett. India biz.— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) July 24, 2016
The Nishikant Kamat directorial, which released on July 23, made an opening collection of Rs 2.25 crore. The collections soared on Saturday to Rs 3.5 crore.
The thriller, which sees Irrfan and Kamat team up again after the award winning Mumbai Meri Jaan, has been lauded by the film fraternity too.
While the film is about taking a stand and shouldering responsibility, it also showcases the bond between a father and son.
