Says Neha Dhupia about her kiss with Raghuvir Yadav in Gandhi To Hitler. Adds her role in the film is challenging

She is famous for her sizzling image in Bollywood but Neha Dhupia admits it “felt a bit odd” to do the kissing scene with actor Raghuvir Yadav in their upcoming, Gandhi To Hitler. For the uninitiated, Raghuvir plays Hitler while Neha’s role is of Hitler’s wife Eva Braun.

“You always feel a bit weird during intimate scenes. So, it definitely felt odd to do the kissing sequence,” says Neha. “A director tells you, ‘walk out of the bathroom like you do it at home’. But you are obviously aware that other people like the light men and cameraman are also around. Generally, there’s a moment of silence before such scenes.”But wasn’t it weirder to do a lip-lock sequence with a seasoned actor like Raghuvir Yadav? “When it comes to it, it doesn’t really matter who you are kissing,” laughs Neha. “But I felt a bit odd because I was doing a cosy sequence after a long time. I didn’t think much about it. I simply went with the flow in a very clinical manner.”

Neha, though, admits that it was a challenge to play Eva Braun. “Especially since not much information is available about her in history books. But it’s a great opportunity to play a woman with such kind of love for a man. She didn’t give up on Hitler despite being fully aware that they were going to die soon,” says Neha, wondering “how it would have been living in a bunker with her husband and dying a few hours after the marriage.”

Neha, who is set to walk the ramp for designer Neeta Lulla at Blenders Pride Magical Nights, adds she “tried to understand Eva Braun’s state of mind as a woman” and what she must be going through. “You pick any book on Hitler’s life and it will be only about him with very little information about Eva. But still, I went through some write-ups and books. And I found that Eva had a very flamboyant personality. Be it her incredible lifestyle or hanging out with soldiers, she had an amazingly attractive personality,” says the actor.
