He has one of the best physiques in Bollywood. But as John Abraham readies for Shoojit Sircar’s Jaffna, he is set to put his fitness levels to the test. For the political thriller that he is producing himself, he will lose about 8-9 kilos. The film goes on the floors early next year. “Shoojit has instructed me to cut flab for Jaffna. And that’s exactly what I am doing. I will be really lean and mean in three months. I have always believed that fitness should be holistic,” says John.
The Shootout at Wadala actor, who is also set to launch his chain of gyms, JA Fitness, feels there isn’t anything unnatural in the way his body weight must fluctuate. “I do it over a period of time, so the process is gradual. I am an ectomorph, so I have the tendency to lose weight easily,” says John.
And how does he plan to go about the weight-loss process? “I plan to reduce my protein and carbohydrate intake. Also, I will change my workout routine and my body reacts magically. For me, it’s not just about going and coming out of gym, but also rearranging my entire routine. And I really try to lead a healthy lifestyle,” he says, adding that he is going ahead with JA Fitness gyms because he feels “it’s important for me to reflect my philosophy in what I am starting off.”
