Model-turned-actor John Abraham is taking a step forward in the entertainment industry. He has now joined the bandwagon of actor-turned-producers with his brand new production company, JA (John Abraham) Entertainment Pvt Ltd.

Model-turned-actor John Abraham is taking a step forward in the entertainment industry. He has now joined the bandwagon of actor-turned-producers with his brand new production company, JA (John Abraham) Entertainment Pvt Ltd.

The actor is now looking forward to producing some cutting-edge films with global appeal, says a source close to him. John’s official spokesperson confirms the news and reveals that the star is in the process of venturing into commercial films that he feels suit his sensibilities.

Though the storyline of the short film is being kept under wraps until later, the spokesperson did divulge that it would not be a full-length feature production.

John, meanwhile, preferred not involving himself with the film as an actor, as he already has a long list of films lined up for release starting with Desi Boyz and I Me Aur Main this year, followed by Race 2 and Shootout At Wadala in 2012.

“He is not acting in this debut production, but he may take up lead roles in some of his future projects if the scripts demand his presence,” adds the spokesperson, before giving us an inkling about the scale of his debut production: “John has roped in technicians from LA for it.”

The actor, who made his debut with Jism in 2003 opposite former-flame. actor Bipasha Basu eventually made a stronghold for himself in Bollywood with the Yash Raj Films action production Dhoom in 2004. The actor is currently striving to hone his comic skills on the big screen. His debut production too will be a comedy-drama. For now, the actor is looking forward to Desi Boyz, where he will be seen with Akshay Kumar, whom he last worked with in Garam Masala (2005).

The film releases on November 25.
