After a whopping 16 years, director JP Dutta and actor Sunny Deol are back with the second installment of the Border franchise, based on the real occurrences of the Indo-Pakistan 1971 war.
While there was a lot of speculation over the sequel of the 1997 blockbuster, putting all conjectures to rest, the makers have finally roped in Sunny, 56, as one of the film’s leads. Sunny, who essayed the role of a Sikh commanding officer in the original Border, won’t play a Sikh but will be seen in a commanding officer’s avatar in Border 2, an adaptation from real life events. “We are happy to announce that Sunny Deol will be part of the film’s starcast and is an integral part of the film. Other names are in deliberating stages,” says the film’s official spokesperson.
The sequel will go on floors by the end of October.
