Actor Kabir Bedi’s recent wedding, his fourth, hasn’t really taken off the way he’d have wished. The acrimony within the family was more than evident when his daughter, Pooja Bedi, took to Twitter to make her displeasure with Parveen Dusanj known to the world, calling her a “wicked witch” and an “evil step mother”.

On Tuesday morning, the 70-year-old actor took to the microblogging site to defend his new wife, and launch a stinging attack on Pooja. He wrote: “DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED by venomous comments by my daughter Pooja against @parveendusanj just after we married. NO excuse for bad behaviour.”

Pooja had tweeted on January 17, “Every fairy tale has a wicked witch or an evil step-mother. Mine just arrived. @ikabirbedi just married @parveendusanj!” The actor-model soon retracted the tweet and wrote, “Deleted the last tweet on my dad @iKabirBedi 4th marriage. Lets keep things positive. I Wish him the best !!!”

Interestingly, Adam Bedi, Pooja’s brother and Kabir’s son, seemed pretty happy with his father’s decision. Welcoming Parveen into the family, he tweeted: “@parveendusanj Welcome to the family! I am so happy for you and my dad. Lots of love. Feeling happy and proud to have been a part of the beautiful wedding of my father @iKabirBedi & @parveendusanj ! Magical energies! God bless.”

Parveen Dusanj thanked Adam for the wishes: “Thank you Adam. Was wonderful having you and @XmelissamakeupX with us through all the celebrations.”
