Veteran actor Kader Khan’s younger son Shah Nawaz is set to make his Bollywood debut with a comedy film titled Nawabi Sharabi, where he will share screen space with his father. “It revolves around an uncle and nephew and takes place during the course of one night. Dad (Kader Khan) plays my uncle,” says Shah Nawaz, who also shares the spotlight with his father in their ongoing play, Hamare Bhi Meharban Kaise Kaise. The play also features his elder brother Sarfaraz.

Nawabi Sharabi is the directorial debut of Mridul Tulsidas and is the story of a Kolkata-based Gujarati family that spends all their money on drinking and partying and is eventually left only with Rs 1. How they plan their night with that one rupee and how it changes their life for the better is the crux of the storyline.

“This young boy is an alcoholic and is supposed to get a letter which will change his destiny. But he can only get that letter if he quits drinking. So what he does during that night is also featured in the film,” reveals Shah Nawaz.

Kader, who is also making his debut as a director with Parchhaiyan, has penned the dialogues for his son’s first film. Nawabi Sharabi is slated to go on the floors after Diwali.
