Looks like Karan Johar is taking his acting career quite seriously.

After a role in film-maker Anurag Kashyap’s next with Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, he will also be seen in Vikas Bahl’s movie, starring Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. A source close to the film’s production house has revealed that Karan might be playing the role of a father.

The film has a destination wedding as the backdrop, and Shahid plays a wedding planner. "In the film, Karan will be playing a father, who is getting his son married. The wedding is organised by Shahid," says the source. This will be Karan’s second senior role, since in Anurag’s film, he is playing the editor of a newspaper, and his look even includes greying hair.

There was also buzz that Govinda will play Karan’s in-law in the film and both of them have comic roles. However, when asked about this, Govinda only says, "I will be meeting Vikas soon and will then take a decision about the film."

Despite repeated attempts, both Karan and Vikas remained unavailable for comment.
