A few days ago, UNICEF roped in Kareena Kapoor Khan to support their Child-Friendly School and Systems (CFSS) campaign. As part of the child rights organisation’s communication program, the actor will promote the campaign on social media and also feature in an ad for it.

“She visited some schools in rural India a few months ago,” says a source close to the Bollywood actor.

Kareena, whose association with UNICEF is pro bono, adds, “I loved shooting for the ad as it is for a good cause. These schools are full of joy and kids feel so safe and secure there.”

Incidentally, for the ad, Kareena was directed by her school friend Kopal Naithani, who has been working with director Shoojit Sircar for the last 15 years.

Kopal says, “Directing Kareena was a breeze. She was two years my junior in school (Welham Girls’, Dehradun, Uttarakhand). It was only on the sets of the ad that Kareena found out I was directing it.”
