Speculation is rife that Kareena Kapoor is being paid Rs 5 crore for Karan Johar’s next production. Prod her on this and she says, “Karan is family, we don’t discuss money or even scripts. He tells me when to start shooting and pays me what I deserve. I certainly hope he gives me this much,” she laughs.

Kareena, who has been paired with Imran Khan in the film, is reportedly getting herself a ‘chaddi-tee’ wardrobe. She rubbishes the rumour, saying that they will be shooting in Nevada and she is definitely not going to compromise on clothes to up the glam quotient in freezing temperatures.

“Besides, shorts have been done to death in the movies,” she reasons. “And my fans didn’t like the Tashan look. So I’ll be wearing lots of clothes with a Jab We Met kind of a vibe.”

KareenaBut isn’t she going back to a size zero on Karan’s instructions? "No!" she explodes. "This size zero nonsense has been going on for too long. I’m grateful to Shah Rukh (Khan) for taking the mantle away for me. Ever since he got into those body suits for Ra.One, people have been discussing his weight loss rather than mine."

She, however, insists that his lean look is perfect for superhero SRK. "I saw the rushes recently and he looks so hot," she gushes. "We have an Italian director of photography (DOP) and he has captured my best features too. Both Ra.One and Saif’s (Ali Khan) Agent Vinod are big summer releases and I’m looking forward to them."

The film with Imran, she says, is one of the best scripts she’s read in four years. “It’s a riot. If it’s made the way it is written, you will be rolling in the aisles too. Both Imran and I have performance driven roles,” she asserts.

Aamir’s girl?
Supposedly, she’s also teaming up with Imran’s mamu (uncle), Aamir Khan, after the blockbuster 3 Idiots. “I’d die to do a film with Aamir, preferably a love story. But there’s nothing on the cards at the moment. And given Aamir’s pace, by the time he’s ready for a Kapoor, it will probably be Samaira (sister Karisma Kapur’s daughter) and not me opposite him,” she jokes.

May be not Aamir, but Kareena is ready for another Khan — Salman. Last year, their Diwali release, Main Aur Mrs Khanna, was a downer. But she has great hopes for Bodyguard. “I saw Salman for the first time on the sets of Lolo’s (Karisma) Jagruti, I was only 10 then, he’s been one of my favourite actors since,” she reminisces.

Recently, Salman’s sister, Alvira, approached her with the Bodyguard role. “She wanted someone who could act. Nayantara, who did the Tamil original, was super and I was like, ‘Oh-my-God, I hope I measure up.’ But I’m sure when you see me on screen, you’ll think the role was written for me,” she promises.

This Diwali she will be taking the Golmaal franchise forward. She plays chawanni chaap Daboo in Golmaal 3 and says, “Few heroines would have dared to do a role like this.”
