Highlight Story

Actor Akshay Kumar seems to have taken a fancy for sequels, so much so that the actor-producer doesn’t rule out the possibility for a part II to his latest flick, Thank You, if it sets the cash registers ringing. “It’s a perfect film to get into a sequel. We should get the right story. We’ll see it later on,” he says.

That’s not all for the 43-year-old, who also has sequels to Housefull, Hera Pheri and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai (OUATIM) in the pipeline.

“I’m also planning a sequel to Namastey London. And till now I haven’t made one to Singh Is Kingg because I haven’t got the right story,” he says. Talking about his latest release, Thank You, the actor says, “The film is a tribute to women and has a big message for men. It is about how we should respect women and our wives.” “ I was quite shocked when Anees Bazmee (director of Thank You) told me this subject three-four years ago and the angle that we are looking at in the film. That’s the USP of this film and it’s all in a light-hearted vein,” he adds.

Rumours are also abuzz that his look in the sequel to OUATIM is inspired by underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. “I’m playing an underworld don. But, it’s not inspired by Dawood Ibrahim,” he says. Akki’s future projects also include Joker, Desi Boyz, a remake of Seeta Aur Geeta, Deepa Mehta’s Komagata Maru and Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 4.
