The actor is excited about returning to films and trying her hand at horror Ek Thi Daayan, marks actor Konkona Sen Sharma’s maiden tryst with horror genre and she is happy to collaborate with Vishal Bhardwaj and Ekta Kapoor for the film.

Konkona says her character has a mysterious relationship with co-star Emraan Hashmi. “This is my first attempt at horror and I’m collaborating with some great people so I’m very excited about it... Besides, my father (Mukkul Sharma) has written a short story 20 years ago on which the film is based upon,” says the National Award winning actor.

Konkona was on a break for a while and was last seen on the big screen in a brief role in Bhardwaj’s 2011 film, 7 Khoon Maaf, while her last full-fledged role was in Mirch (2010). “I’m very excited because I’m coming after a long time as I had a baby. Now my baby is a little older,” says Konkona, who gave birth to her son in 2011. The 33-year-old, not willing to reveal much about her character in the film, says: “My relationship with Emraan is a very mysterious thing. Emraan has to deal with evils on many levels and that’s it. I’m not allowed to talk about it.” Directed by Kannan Iyer, the film also features Kalki Koechlin and Huma Qureshi, and is scheduled for an April 18 release.
