Actor Konkana Sensharma makes her directorial debut with A Death in the Gunj that will be screened in the special presentation section of Toronto Film Festival 2016 that begins on September 8.
The festival trailer of the film was released online late Tuesday.
The film boasts of an ensemble cast that includes Om Puri, Kalki Koechlin, Vikrant Massey, Gulshan Devaiah, Tanuja Mukherjee, Tillotama Shome and Konkona’s estranged husband Ranvir Shorey. Konkona has also written the script for the film.
Set in 1979, A Death in the Gunj follows a shy young Indian student (Vikrant Massey) who quietly and fatefully unravels a murder mystery during a family road trip to McCluskiegunj. The three-and-a-half minute long trailer builds up with warmth and mystery even as it uses shock elements to add to the intrigue.

The film was shot extensively in McCluskieganj town, near Ranchi (Jharkhand), which was once famous for its considerable population of Anglo-Indian community, but has gradually dwindled after the sixties.
This is definitely a film to look forward to.
