Earlier this year, Konkona Sen Sharma — married to actor Ranvir Shorey — became a mother, giving birth to their baby boy, Haroon. And though she captured the limelight for flaunting her baby bump for a gossip magazine, the Omkara actor has kept a low profile post pregnancy.
Now, however, she is set to make her first public appearance at a promotional event of Saurabh Shukla’s Pappu Can’t Dance Saala (PCDS). Known to be chums with Saurabh, Vinay Pathak and Rajat Kapoor, it’s no surprise that Konkana decided to step out for their upcoming project. Creatively, the four have been part of memorable films like Mixed Doubles (2006), Mithya (2008) and Bheja Fry (2007) among other projects.
So no wonder, the friends have come together to support Shukla’s "first mass entertainer". Konkana will be seen with the film’s cast and crew at their music launch today.
The actor and new mom is said to be excited and upbeat about supporting her close pals. "All of them have collectively come out — showing support for one another — on several occasions. They are a close-knit group and are extremely supportive of whatever work they take up," says a team member of PCDS.
"Saurabh is good friends with the entire gang. So, of course, we are expecting Ranvir and Konkona to join us. We have planned an exciting evening with several performances," says producer Ravindra Singh of R Vision India Ltd.
Vinay Pathak and Neha Dhupia will perform at the music launch today. PCDS is the story of a common man from Benaras who falls in love in Mumbai and with Mumbai. His experience and interaction with other characters forms the rest of the story.
Directed by Saurabh Shukla, the film also stars Rajat Kapoor and will hit the screens on December 16.
