It’s official: the sequel to the super-hero flick Krrish (2006), toplining Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra, goes on floors this October. The film is likely to be shot in parts of India, and a couple of locations abroad, the names of which are being kept under wraps for the moment. Producer-director Rakesh Roshan was spotted in Switzerland a few weeks ago, so chances are that portions of the film could be shot there. The supporting cast of the film includes Vivek Oberoi, and Chitrangada Singh, who’ll be playing a mutant character reminiscent of a popular Hollywood franchise.
Hrithik, who will reportedly be portraying three different characters in one film for the first time in his career, is elated at the mention of the Krrish sequel, which he assures will be loaded with Hollywood-quality visual effects. "We’re just waiting for the storyboard to be completed because when you make a film with special effects, you have to have all your frames sketched and approved on paper. Only then can they be executed inside the studio. Once that happens, the Krrish sequel will roll in October; wrap up in March and probably release next monsoon," he reveals.
The actor, currently the grand judge on the Star Plus reality show Just Dance, is expected to work with technicians flown in from the west. When asked if there will be any song-and-dance sequences in the sequel, Hrithik says, "Krrish and Koi Mil Gaya (2003) had their scores and dances which didn’t look out of place in the movie, but took the story forward. I guess that will be the case with this film too."
The actor refrained from commenting on the different looks he will sport in the movie, also avoiding questions on whether it will be shot in 3D. But leading lady Priyanka, who’s also working with Hrithik on Karan Johar’s Agneepath remake, and who played his love interest in Krrish, adds, "This is a sequel and both Hrithik’s character and mine, Krishna and Priya, will remain the same. But our looks will be different from the previous film. The setting will be contemporary, so our attire will be designed keeping that in mind."
