Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum

Hours before the film releases and a day before the reviews appear, here’s what you can expect from this week’s release.

Film: Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum
Cast: Riteish Deshmukh (last seen in Housefull 2; 2012), Tusshar Kapoor (last seen in Char Din Ki Chandni; 2011), Neha Sharma (last seen in Teri Meri Kahaani; 2012) and Sarah Jane Dias (last seen in Game; 2011)
storyline: Sex joke; Bollywood parody; repeat; end.

Director: Sachin Yardi (last directed C Kkompany; 2008)

Also starring Tusshar Kapoor, the film received negative reviews and did not perform well at the box-office.
Music: Sachin-Jagir and Meet Bros Anjjan

The track ‘Dil garden garden’ has earned its spot on the top of many charts, however, there have been rumours claiming it sounds a lot like Flo Rida’s ‘You spin my head right round’.

Controversies/stunts: The pug in the film has made headlines almost as many times as the film’s lead actors have. The pup’s controversial name, Fakhruddin, also invited wrath on religious grounds for obvious promotional reasons.

Marketing/hype: The promos are parodies of films like Devdas (2002) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (2001). We don’t know whether Sanjay Leela Bhansali was upset, but producer Ekta Kapoor made sure she cleared the air.

Our assessment: The promos of the sequel to Kya Kool Hai Hum (2005) promise to gross audiences out once again and rake in crores. It’s got it all — cringe humour, vulgar innuendo and really sad sex jokes (girl to boy: jo tumhare paas hai, woh aaj kal dukaano mein bikhta hai).
