With almost a decade’s experience in the industry, and films like Saathiya, Yuva, Omkara and Shootout at Lokhandwala to his credit, actor Vivek Oberoi claims that he has faced all kinds of ups and downs in his career.
The 35-year-old is currently shooting in the Capital for his upcoming film, Kismat, Love, Paisa, Dilli (KLPD).
“This is the best phase in my career. I am doing great projects such as Zilla Ghaziabad and Krrish 2 apart from KLPD. I must say that lady luck (wife Priyanka) is doing wonders. I have lot of contentment in my life now.” says the actor.
Seemingly excited about working in KLPD, Vivek adds, “Its a complete and crazy fun ride that encapsulates the spirit of Delhi. My co-star Mallika Sherawat is a complete sport and I am enjoying working with her.”
Ask him about the scene in which he will strip down to his boxers, and he claims, “It was demanded by the script. Kaam ke liye kya kya karna padta hai.”
Vivek is also very excited about playing a ‘super villain’ in Krrish 2. “There is no competition to this character and I am having a gala time playing it. Its great working with Hrithik and the atmosphere at the shoot is comfotable and encouraging,” he says.
Commenting on his tiff with director Sanjay Gupta who claimed that Vivek walked out of his film, Shootout at Wadala, Vivek adds, “I am disappointed that he went that negative. I forgive him and I have moved on. It’s an actor’s prerogative to say yes to a movie or no. I didn’t like the role, so I didn’t sign it.”
Talking about how marriage with Priyanka has changed him, Vivek says, “You know life is great when you wake up smiling for no reason. Touchwood, Priyanka has made my life beautiful. I never thought I will feel heads over heels in love with someone, but the fact is I am completely in love with Priyanka. I begin to miss her immensely once she is out. Even now, when I am shooting in Delhi for around 15 days, she will be joining me as I miss her so much.”
On being asked, if he has any regrets, he says, “My life has been a rollercoaster ride. To be honest, there is no regret. The fact is that believe evolution of a person is based on the circumstances that one faces. I am in happy space and happy with who I am.”
On the capital
I love Delhi. I have lots of friends here. The best thing about the Capital is the variety of food that one gets to eat.
Kids are a divine blessing. I love kids and look forward to that phase in my life, whenever it happens.
On Zilla Ghaziabad
I play Satbir Gujjar who is a school teacher, but gives up his pen for a gun, to eliminate gangs in Ghaziabad.
