Govinda and Shakti Kapoor in a still from David Dhawan's Raja Babu.

He is Bollywood's undisputed King of Comedy, forever at war with purists who scoff at the brand of mindless (some even say retarded) films he helms. The jury is still out there, but the fact is that director David Dhawan, who celebrates his 60th birthday today, has given us some of the most hilarious and fun moments in his films. And when he teams up with Govinda, Salman Khan, Shakti Kapoor or Kader Khan, the result is absolute rib-tickling fun.

Here's a list of 10 scenes from his films we will always be indebted to him for.

Raja Babu (1994)

This is a rustic scene, but don't miss how Shakti Kapoor and Govinda have turned it into a hilarious ride.

Coolie No 1 (1995)

When Kader Khan and Govinda come together, they can make the world laugh with them. Mindless it may be, but you cannot deny that this scene brought a smile on your face.

Deewana Mastana (1997)

Though Satish Kaushik has directed 13 films in his career, he is still known by the name of the character he played in Deewana Mastana. Watch this scene to understand the magic of Pappu Pager.

Mr and Mrs Khiladi (1997)

Today Akshay Kumar is known as the champion of comic scenes, but this is the film that initiated him into comedies. See how he sells a goat for Rs 1 lakh.

Hero No 1 (1997)

Govinda changes his clothes in a moving car in a way only he can do.

Haseena Maan Jayegi (1999)

Sonu and Monu rescue their father from the villain’s den in style. You just see how they do it.

Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004)

Akshay Kumar is at the top of his game in this scene. Look how he irritates Salman Khan.

Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya (2005)

This is a court scene, but the treatment is nowhere close to the word serious. A great chemistry among Salman, Arshad and Sushmita makes it a must watch scene.

Partner (2007)

Govinda is fired from his job, but he makes even this scene funny.

Main Tera Hero (2014)
This is David Dhawan’s last released film, but no less a hit. See how Dhawan brought out the funny side of otherwise tough looking Arunoday Singh.
