Lucknow Central trailer: Farhan Akhtar and his ‘band’ of brothers want to break free

Farhan Akhtar is back on the big screen with his latest film, Lucknow Central. The trailer for the film dropped on Thursday and features the actor as an inmate of Lucknow Central Jail. The story of a small town man, Kishan Mohan Girhotra (played by Akhtar) who dreams of making it big as a singer. His dreams meet the harsh reality and he lands in the jail on the charge of murder. Now, music is his ticket to freedom.

He befriends four other inmates - Dikkat Ansari, Victor Chattopahdyay, Purushottam Pandit, Parminder Trehan. To give a final shot at being free, he devises a plan of forming a music band with other inmates. The real intention, of course, is to escape.

The fast-paced trailer tells the story of a small-towner who dreams to be a singer. But fate has other plans for him as he gets wrongfully charged for murder. He is put in jail where his life is turned to hell.

Lucknow Central also stars Ronit Roy as the main antagonist and Deepak Dobriyal as one of the band members.

Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Emmay Entertainment and Motion Pictures, the film is directed by Ranjit Tiwari, and is slated to release on September 15.
