Falling on Friday, Mahashivratri is one of the most important Hindu festivals of the year. According to Hindu mythology, devotees celebrate the ‘Chaturdashi’ of ‘Phagun’, the Hindu lunar month, as the wedding day of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
