Mahie Gill turns murderer?

Mahie Gill is known to pick interesting parts to play. After her much acclaimed role as Paro in Anurag Kashyap’s Dev.D, the actor will be playing Maria Susairaj in film based on the model - convict’s life and brutal murder of Neeraj Grover.

(2009), the actor is now all set to play a murderer in Ram Gopal Varma’s next. The film is based on the true story of Kannada actor Maria Susairaj, who along with one of her lovers, Emile Jerome Mathew, brutally murdered and cut up her boyfriend, Neeraj Grover’s body into pieces to get rid of the evidence.



“This is one of the most challenging roles I have played. But I had no inhibitions. The film is about a love story gone horribly wrong in which Maria is a struggling actor and ends up becoming a killer”, says Mahie.



The filmmaker involved in the project is known for his talent in the genre of gruesome cinema. And Mahie confirms saying that he helped her a lot in gearing up for the negative role. “Ramu had been meeting with a lot of Maria’s friends including Jerome to know more about her. He

would give me the information he learnt to help me get into the skin of my character. I’ve heard Maria was very helpful person, contrary to her dark side,” she says.



Apart from this untitled film, Mahie will also be seen in

Buddha In A Traffic Jam

. The political thriller directed by Vivek Agnihotri and produced by the students of the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad explores the efforts of a student who, under the guidance of his professor starts publishing articles on the plight of the poor, in turn exposing some ugly truths, which put his life in danger.

I play a woman who runs an NGO. The film digs deep into the issue of corruption, which affects each one of us.”



The actor, who has been receiving compliments for her new short hairstyle also loves experimenting with her looks. “In Ramu’s movie, I will be seen with both long and short hair,” she says.
