Main Tera Hero takes a dig at Katrina Kaif? No, says Varun Dhawan
We had reported recently that the Varun Dhawan-Ileana D'Cruz-Naris Fakhri-starrer takes digs at Katrina Kaif's Hindi. Now actor Varun and director David Dhawan say that they are not making fun of her.bollywood Updated: Apr 05, 2014 15:56 IST
Since her Bollywood debut, her slightly anglicised accent while delivering lines in Hindi has been talked about. Now, Katrina Kaif’s linguistic skills have come under the scanner thanks to a reference made in jest in David Dhawan’s new film, which features his son Varun in the lead.
However, both father and son don’t think it is a big deal, and maintain that there is no souring of equations with Katrina. "There is no issue at all (with Katrina). Even she knows it has been done in good humour," says Dhawan Sr. In the film, actor Raju Kher takes a dig at Katrina’s command over Hindi, but Varun’s character disagrees with the comment made.
Earlier, we had reported that Anupam Kher takes a potshot at Katrina Kaif's 'Hindi' in a dialogue promo of Daid Dhawan's Main Tera Hero. But Varun Dhawan defends the heroine in the movie.

"I don’t know why people are focusing so much on it. We aren’t making fun of Katrina’s Hindi," says Varun. So, did he — or his father — try to reach out to Katrina and keep her in the loop?
"Not at all, there’s no need for it. She knows there’s no ulterior motive," says the actor, who will soon start work on his yet-untitled film with director Sriram Raghavan.
Varun also has a Karan Johar production and choreographer-director Remo D’Souza’s sequel to his hit dance film of 2013 in the pipeline.
