Popular television anchor Manish Paul is on cloud nine as even before the release of his debut film, Mickey Virus. He has been signed on for the sequel of 2010 comedy, Tere Bin Laden.
The producers of Tere Bin Laden 2 (TBL2) noticed Manish during his hosting stint on the reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. Director Abhishek Sharma then called him for an audition. The actor plays the main protagonist, and insists that there's a Laden impersonator in the film. "People will see a different side of my comedy. TBL2 will have the same flavour as its predecessor. It will also have some cool twists."
The buzz is that lead of TBL Pakistani singer-actor Ali Zafar will be doing a cameo in TBL 2. The recce is currently on and the film will go on floors as soon as Manish finishes shooting Mickey Virus.
Another TV star, Sushant Singh Rajput, has also been signed on for three big projects without making his debut, while Ayushmann Khurana has had a successful launch with Vicky Donor. Manish is glad that the actors from TV are finally making it to big-ticket projects. "I am happy that the industry is accepting us newcomers with open arms. I am in talks with other filmmakers who have approached me, and soon I will be taking on more work."
