Many youngsters started keeping turban after Diljit Dosanjh’s success: Angad Bedi talks about Soorma
Angad Bedi is all praise for his Soorma co-star Diljit Dosanjh in Soorma. He talks about Pink, Tiger Zinda Hai and Inside Edge.
Back to back success of Pink, Inside Edge and Tiger Zinda Hai has made Angad Bedi an actor to look forward to. His is hopeful about his next Soorma, directed by Shaad Ali.
He says, “It’s about two brothers Sandeep Singh and Vikramjit Singh. I am playing Vikramjit who was an explosive player. He was one of the best drag-flickers in the country, but his journey was cut short by an injury. But, he wanted to complete it through his brother.”
He sheds light on his character. “Sandeep suffers from a bullet wound in spine, but wants to make a comeback to hockey. Vikarmjit helps him here by taking different jobs. He has to earn money to support his family, to meet the medical expenses of his brother.”
Will Soorma also be able to change his image? He says, “So far, my characters have been internal. Be it Pink or Inside Edge or Tiger Zinda Hai, there is always stability in these characters, but Vikramjit is always high on energy. His body language is very open.”
Angad Bedi is all praise for his Soorma co-star Diljit Dosanjh. “I am very proud of Diljit Dosanjh. He is from Ludhiana and has made a place for himself in the film industry with a turban. He changed the perspective that a Sikh character is only for a comic relief. Many youngsters in Punjab have started keeping turban after Diljit’s success.”

Apart from Soorma, Angad will also be a part of web series Inside Edge. “Inside Edge season 2 and 3 will come soon. We are preparing for the shoot.”
Did he play a certain cricketer in Inside Edge? “A lot of people thought that Arvind Vashisth’s character was modelled on MS Dhoni, but it was inspired from my father. How he talks, even now. Why people listen to him.”
Soorma is scheduled to hit the screens on June 29, 2018.
