Right now she’s in Gstaad doing nothing. Having slogged for months, she admitted that it would be a pleasure to put her feet up before she took off on a fortnight’s Swiss break. “I’m going to cut myself off from everything Bollywood. I’ve even changed my phone number so I’m accessible only to family. There’s nothing more special than spending quiet quality time with Saif (beau Saif Ali Khan),” she insisted.

Buzz is that her parents and his would also be flying down to plan a soon-to-be-wedding. Kareena is dismissive, “We’re not children that our parents have to follow us around. This is our New Year holiday. Marriage will happen, may be sometime in 2012, and definitely not behind closed doors.”

Meanwhile, there’s talk that Karisma’s marriage with industrialist Sanjay Kapur is over, and she’s coming back to the movies. “For 15 years, my sister has never discussed her personal life in print, and unlikely to do so now,” says Kareena. “We haven’t even talked about her getting back to movies. She’s still a full-time mother, in between she’s done some ads and is looking super hot!”

Kareena dotes on her sister’s children: “Kian’s gorgeous, like strawberry,” she drools. “And Samaira the most intelligent Kapur, with an ‘u’ who enjoys reading and surfing on her laptop. Saif, Shah Rukh, (Khan) and me, are the only three actors she recognises.”

Happily, the actor is working with both Saif and Shah Rukh this year, in Agent Vinod and Ra.One. There’s also Eid ‘dhamaka’, Bodyguard, with Salman Khan, and a Christmas treat with Aamir Khan. Somewhere in between is Short Term Shaadi with Imran Khan.

She’s thrilled to have snagged another film with Aamir, so soon after 3 Idiots. “I thought it would be Samaira’s turn next,” she laughs. Wasn’t she torn between ‘mamu’ (uncle) and nephew, and only landed the Aamir film because Short Term Shaadi’s shoot was hit for a six? “We’ve just wrapped up a schedule of Short Term Shaadi in Las Vegas and one has nothing to do with the other,” she retorts. “Imran’s confident, young, fresh, we make a cute pair. Aamir? Don’t get me started or the monologue will continue over the next three hours.”

If Ra.One is a ‘desi’ Superman, then Agent Vinod is Jason Bourne, Tintin and James Bond put together. “But I’m no Bond girl who jumps off mountains. I’m a mystery miss around whom the story revolves,” she argues. “My Love Story is another performance oriented role, after Jab We Met and Golmaal 3.”

Meanwhile, Saif’s teaming up with his Love Aaj Kal co-star, Deepika Padukone, for a third home production. Kareena’s excited, “They make a lovely jodi and a more successful one than him and me,” she says candidly. “I’d like him to work with all the leading ladies, including Priyanka (Chopra).”

She may be impressed with Priyanka’s acting abilities but not her accent. A crack about it on Koffee With Karan promoted a rejoinder from PC on the same show, that she’d picked up the accent from the same place as Bebo’s boyfriend. A cold war ensued and only thawed during a recent show. “The war was media generated,” Kareena snorts. “Saif and I went on the show to show our love and commitment to each other, not sit on a sofa and point fingers at anyone.”

Meanwhile, the award season is here, along with the Top 10 lists. “I don’t want to be on any sexy list,” Kareena asserts. “It’s enough to be desired by one man. I’d like to be acknowledged as a good actor but even if I don’t win any awards, I’ve already got my reward. Golmaal 3 is the third biggest grosser of all time, I don’t have to prove anything to anyone.”
