Richa Chadda’s latest release, Masaan, has been generating a lot of buzz. The film has got good reviews, and is doing better business than expected at the box office. In fact, Richa herself found it difficult to get tickets for a Sunday evening show at a multiplex in Andheri (Mumbai) recently.
says, "I actually had to cancel on a friend for the 8pm show, as I’d managed to get only 10 tickets."
Richa adds that
team "never expected a big opening. The movie has us - non-stars, and we are competing with the Bajrangi Bhaijaans of the world. We always knew that it was going to be a word-of-mouth film. The business on Saturday was double that of Friday’s. The smaller cities are taking some time to warm up to it, but it is doing well in the bigger cities," she says.
The actor also reveals that one of the best compliments that came her way was from filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani. She says, "I’m touched by all the appreciation that is coming my way. Recently, I met Rajkumar Hirani, and he told me that I deserve a hug for this one. Then, he went on to give me one. You can see the tweets and messages on social media, so you can imagine how it has been in person."
