Known for his work in films such as Masaan (2015) and Zubaan (2016), actor Vicky Kaushal says that he approaches every film like it is his debut. “I make a deliberate attempt to look at every film like it’s my first . I feel this helps you give your best to the film. I have never lived in the glory of my past. Masaan is history for me. Every character has it’s own journey,” he says.
Talking about the parameters which he looks at before taking on a role, Vicky says that he first looks at who is directing the film. “Cinema is a director’s medium. The story and the director’s vision needs to excite me. The character should make me nervous. The film can be any genre, cinema or budget, but I want to be part of films where my character has a journey,” he says.
Talking about what he loves about being an actor, Vicky says, “The most satisfying thing about being an actor is also the most challenging. As an actor, you get to be someone very different from who you are in real life. You get to look at life from a different perspective. This also makes you evolve as a human being. This is challenging but the most gratifying as well,” he says.
The actor has quite a few projects in the pipeline. “I have Manmarziyan, my film with director Sameer Sharma, as of now. I am also in the final stages of singing other projects, but we are busy finalising the details as of now,” he says.
