The fate of Sudhir Mishra’s epic love story, Mehrunissa, now hinges entirely on actor Amitabh Bachchan’s approval, as everything else associated with the film is already in place. If the sources are to be believed, UTV has decided to produce the film and the shooting is set to begin in Lucknow, March next year.
In this Hindu-Muslim love story, actor Rishi Kapoor plays a Hindu lawyer while Amitabh Bachchan will play a Muslim commissioner of police. If Big B decides to come on board, the two will be seen together on the big screen after a gap of 28 years. They last worked together in Coolie (1983). “I want to work with Amitji. Now it all depends on him,” says Kapoor.
