Director Ashim Ahluwalia’s film, Miss Lovely, which will be screened in the Un Certain Regard section of the soon-to-begin Cannes Film Festival, has tied up with the global film company, Fortissimo Films that has, in the past, distributed Wong Kar-Wai’s In The Mood For Love apart from other iconic productions.

According to the film’s publicists, “Fortissimo Films will now handle the international sales” of the movie that will premiere at the film festival that starts on May 16.

Michael J Werner, chairman of Fortisssimo Films says, “Ashim is a true original on the Indian cinema scene; he’s an auteur. We are so thrilled to work with him and his team on this amazing film.” The director, meanwhile, is equally thrilled. “Fortissimo has been a company that I’ve been obsessed with. They’ve backed Hou Hsiao Hsien, Wong Kar Wai and much of the contemporary cinema that I love,” says Ashim.
