Social media is a weird place. One fine morning, the world saw Alok Nath trending on Twitter, and why? No reason really. Except that Tweeples decided to troll the actor for his 'sanskari' roles. Alok Nath went on to reinvent himself and cashed in on the trend by appearing in several videos and was even interviewed on a TV channel.
After Alok ‘Babuji’ Nath, it’s Mohnish ‘Bade Bhaiyya’ Bahl who is trending on Twitter for no rhyme or reason. Bahl was among the top trends on Friday night and Saturday morning.
The actor has worked in more than 100 films and several TV shows. He has films like Vaastav (1999), Hum Saath Saath Hain, Astitva, Raja Hindustani and of course Maine Pyar Kiya to his credit.
Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Neelam and Mohnish Bahl in the 'sanskari' song Yeh To Sach Hai from the 'super-sanskari' film Hum Saath Saath Hain.
Bahl began his career as a lead character alongside Sanjay Dutt in Bekaraar (1983) but could not sustain the main hero's image. He then went on to play either the ideal son (Hum Saath Saath Hain), the ideal friend or the villain (Maine Pyar Kiya), who wanted to rape the hero's love interest or sister.
Twitterati took jibes at the kind of roles Bahl has usually essayed.
