The much-awaited trailer of Sridevi’s Mom was unveiled on Saturday afternoon and is certainly satiates us.

Helmed by Ravi Udyawar, the film also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna in important roles. Sridevi plays the role of a mother who is all set to save her daughter from the shackles of a conspiracy.

The trailer opens with Sridevi staring at a gloomy, black and cloud-laden sky even as we hear her asking, “Galat aur bahut galat me se chunana ho to aaap kya chunege?” Nawazuddin clearly stands out with his peculiar voice and dialogue, “Bholenath ki kripa hai ki insaan ke raakh se uski kundali nikal leta hun.”

Nawazuddin Siddiqui dons a very different look for Mom.

Devki (Sridevi )is a loving wife, and a mother of two daughters but one of her daughters does not accept her as the mom. An unfortunate incident further distances Devki and her daughter, to a point of no return.

Towards the end of the trailer, the daughter calls Sridevi ‘Maam’, insisting that she is not her mother. With Sridevi seemingly skirting legal rules for the sake of a child who may not be her own, will Mom be similar to Vidya Balan's Kahaani 2? We can’t be sure until the movie is out in theatres.

Sridevi is then seen seeking help from two apparently different kinds of people - Akshaye and Nawazuddin. What is the incident? What keeps Devki’s daughter aloof from her? We may find answers once the film hits theatres on July 7.

Sridevi was last seen in English Vinglish (2012) which proved to be a surprise box office hit. However, she didn’t sign any other film for good three years before her Tamil film Pulli (2015) hit theatres.
