Singer-actor Monica Dogra, who will soon be seen in Kiran Rao’s Dhobi Ghat seems to be looking forward to a promising career in acting. Already famous for her band Shaa’ir + Func, Dogra will be seen in a new avatar this Wednesday – that of a celebrity bartender for a charity event called The ‘Fun’draiser. Not many people know that Dogra worked as a bartender when she was in college in New York, for “fun”.

“It was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to get behind the bar and showcase my cocktail-making abilities. And considering it’s for a cause that I strongly believe in, which is the empowerment of women, I’m even more delighted,” she says, adding, “I urge everybody to stop by and support the cause and do their bit as well.”

Apart from Dogra, Nidhi Sunil and Lekha Washington will also be seen as VIP bartenders at Olive, Mahalakshmi Racecourse serving their own signature VIP cocktails. The proceeds from this event will go to NGO Akshara Centre that looks after women empowerment.
